23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

We must take care of our hearts for the issues of life spring forth from it.
Psalm 19:14
14 Let the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in Thy sight,
O Lord, my Strength
and my Redeemer.

God removed Saul and made David their king.
God spoke favorably about David.
He said, ‘I have found that David, son of Jesse, is a man after my own heart.
He will do everything I want him to do.’

When we concentrate on obeying God’s word, it’s an action of going after God’s heart.

When we confess our sins and forsake them, it’s an action of going after God’s heart.
Proverbs 28:13
13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
If we sin we can ask and obtain forgiveness.
