The Law of the Lord is perfect,

converting the soul:

the Testimony of the Lord is sure,

making wise the simple.

The Statutes of the Lord are right,

rejoicing the heart:

the Commandment of the Lord is pure,

enlightening the eyes.

The Fear of the Lord is clean,

enduring for ever:

the Judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold,

yea, than much fine gold:

Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Moreover by them is thy servant warned:

and in keeping of them there is great reward!

Psalm 19:7-11

The Bible is not such a book as a man would write if he could,

or could write if he would.

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God,

and is profitable for doctrine,

for reproof,

for correction,

for instruction in righteousness:

Ultimately, above its human authors, the Bible was written by God.

Second Timothy 3:16

This verse tells us that the Bible was “breathed out” by God. God superintended

the human authors of the Bible so that, while using their own writing

styles and personalities, they still recorded exactly what God intended.

The Bible was perfectly guided and entirely inspired by Him.

Humanly speaking, the Bible was written by approximately 40 men of

diverse backgrounds over the course of 1500 years. Moses had been a

prince, an exile and a shepherd, David was a shepherd and a king,

Isaiah was a prophet, Ezra was a priest, Matthew was a tax-collector,

John was a fisherman, Paul was a tentmaker, Luke was a physician.

Despite being penned by different authors over 15 centuries, the Bible

does not contradict itself and does not contain any errors. The authors

all present different perspectives, but they all proclaim the one true

God, and the same one way of salvation—Jesus Christ.

How many Bibles do you have in your house? For most of us, Bibles

are easily accessible, and many of us have several. That we have the

Bible in English owes much to William Tyndale, sometimes called the

Father of the English Bible. 90% of the King James Version of the Bible

and 75% of the Revised Standard Version are from the translation of

the Bible into English made by William Tyndale, yet Tyndale himself

was burned at the stake for his work on October 6, 1536.

Missionaries have gone to foreign tribes to translate the bible into the

people’s language so they could learn about God.

People have risked their lives in order to get Bibles into the hands of

people whose government banned them.

God has supernaturally protected His Word throughout the ages.

Psalm 119:11

Thy word have I hid in mine heart,

that I might not

sin against Thee.

God’s Word is so pure and so precious to me,

its precepts I love and adore;

A lamp to my feet, and a light to my path,

’til pilgrimage days are no more.

‘Tis better than thousands of silver and gold,

more precious than rubies can be,

to sit at the feet of my Master divine,

and hear when He speaks to me.

John 1

In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God.

There is security and rest in the wisdom of the eternal Scriptures.

Geisler and Nix put it this way:

“The ‘Paradise Lost’ of the Genesis becomes the ‘Paradise Regained’ of Revelation.

Whereas the gate to the tree of life is closed in Genesis, it is opened forevermore in
