Archive for the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas Messiaic Prophecies – Day 2’ Category

Greetings Family and Friends,

Welcome to day two of The Twelve Days Before Christmas Messianic Prophecies.  Messianic prophecy is given in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament.  These prophecies were written in the Bible by  forty authors, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, in numerous books of the Bible over a millenium.

Jesus Was Born of a Virgin

The coming of the Messiah was first announced in Genesis 3:15 when God said He would be the

Seed of the woman” and would crush the power of the devil:

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman,

and between thy seed and her Seed;

It shall bruise thy head,

and thou shalt bruise His heel.”

God, speaking through the prophet Isaiah, again foretold the Messiah’s coming as both “God

With Us” and a “Sign” through the woman, and that she would be a “virgin”:

“Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign;

a virgin shall conceive,

and bear a son,

and shall call his name Immanuel.”

Isaiah 7:14

In the book of Matthew we see that Mary fulfilled the prophecies and gave birth to Him Who is

God manifest in the flesh:

“And she shall bring forth a son,

and thou shalt call his name Jesus:

for He shall save his people from their sins.

 Now all this was done,

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet,

a virgin shall be with child,

and shall bring forth a son,

and they shall call his name Emmanuel,

which being interpreted is,

God With Us.”

Matthew 1:21-23

My heart is touched in knowing that before the foundation of the world, God the Father already

had a plan to send His Son Jesus Christ, that mankind could be reconciled back to Him.  In

Genesis we read His plan was already in place.  He didn’t want willful mankind to be forever

without a Savior.  Since He made every human being with a free will, they have a choice to

accept or reject His plan of salvation.  What a wonderful Father!  He didn’t put a computer chip

into mankind so they would be programmed to serve Him.  No! Not at all!  He wants our love

for Him to come from our heart, and not because we have to love Him.  We love Him,

because He first loved us.  It is a reciprocal and beautiful relationship that transcends every

other relationship.

Love is the Child of Freedom,

Never that of Domination.

Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas Season.  Thank you for stopping by.
