“…His praise shall continually be in my mouth;
not the “praise” of which God is the author,
but of which H E is the object…”

PSALM 34:1
A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech;
who drove him away, and he departed.
I will bless the LORD at all times:
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Because Christ lives,
He is our spiritual compass
for all of life’s happenings;
good or bad.

David does not say,
“I have trusted”,
or “I will trust”,
but “I do” trust;
and this was a very considerable thing
to do in his time of his distress.
The Lord
i s to be t r u s t e d
at all times;
David’s testimony was:
“I will praise the Lord at all times:
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Even in the greatest adversity.
-
David’s life at this point was at the lowest ebb.
-
He had fled from the court of Saul
-
on finding Saul purposed to put him to death.
-
(I Samuel 20:31).
~
-
He had hoped to find refuge with Achish,
-
to no avail.
-
He was to become a fugitive,
-
living in dens and caves of the earth.
-
(I Samuel 22:1).
-
He had as yet no body of followers.
We can’t help but to admire His love for the Lord
-
at this time to compose a song of thanksgiving to his God,
“HIS PRAISE SHALL CONTINUALLY BE IN MY MOUTH.”

Ephesians 5;20
Always giving thanks for all things
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God,
even the Father;
~
1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus concerning you.

David had the BEST REFUGE.
Every child of God has the best refuge:
His name is J E S U S!
