John 6:35

And Jesus said unto them,

I am the B R E A D  of life:

 he that cometh to me shall never H U N G ER;

and he that believeth on me shall N E V E R  T H I R S T.

WHAT THOSE WHO KNEW HIM BEST SAID:

John 1;1-4; 14-17

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

John 1:14-16

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of

the only begotten of the Father,)

full of grace and truth.

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh

after me is preferred before me:

for he was before me.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

WHAT THE FATHER SAID

While he yet spake,

behold,

 a bright cloud overshadowed them:

and behold a voice out of the cloud,

which said,

This is my beloved Son,

in whom I am well pleased;

hear ye him.

WHAT NATURE SAID

Mark 4:38-41

And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto

him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind

ceased, and there was a great calm.

And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even

the wind and the sea obey him?

Matthew 21:18-19

Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves

only, and said unto it,

Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

The natural world obeyed Jesus’ commands because He is its Creator

Matthew 21:18-19

Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit

grow on thee henceforward for ever. And

presently the fig tree withered away.

What the demons said

Luke 4:33-34

And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried

out with a loud voice,

“Ha! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?

Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.”

WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID

When we speak of Jesus to others, we must not allow him to be reduced to one  religious or

moral teacher among others.   He claimed to be God. Either He was or He was not. If He was

not, we certainly should not believe in and follow Him. If He was, we should present Him as

we find him in the Scriptures, knowing that some will be drawn to him while others will

ridicule, reject, or persecute us because of him— just as they did the apostles and countless

others through the centuries. As we speak to others of Christ with the same love and humility

that He modeled for us, we can be assured that He will be glorified.

I know men; and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between Him and every person in

the world there is no possible

term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on

what did we rest the creations of

our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions

of men would die for him.

He startled a king; in childhood He puzzled doctors; in manhood He ruled the course of

nature, walked upon the billows as if pavement, and hushed the sea to sleep.  He healed the

multitudes without medicine and made no charge for His service.  The names of the past

proud statesmen of Greece and Rome have come and gone; but the name of this Man abounds

more and more.  Though time has spread nineteen hundred years between the people of this

generation and the scene of His crucifixion, yet HE LIVES, Herod could not destroy Him, and

the grave could not hold Him.
