he that cometh to me shall never hunger;

and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Only Jesus can satisfy the spiritual hunger and

thirst that is in everyone.

Hunger and thirst are two universal needs of mankind.

There is also a Hunger and thirst

within mans spirit above and beyond

the natural experience of life

that hungers and thirsts for God.

~

Psalm 42:1-2

As the hart panteth after the water brooks,

so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God:

 ~

Psalm 63:1

 O God, thou art my God;

early will I seek thee:

my soul thirsteth for thee,

my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land,

where no water is;

 ~

John 7:37

In the last day,

that great day of the feast,

Jesus stood and cried,

saying,

If any man thirst,

let him come unto me,

and drink.

~

John 4;13-15

13 Jesus answered and said unto her,

Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him

shall never thirst;

but the water that I shall give him

shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

15 The woman saith unto him,

Sir, give me this water,

that I thirst not,

neither come hither to draw.

~

 Revelation 21:6

And he said unto me,

It is done.

I am Alpha and Omega,

the beginning and the end.

I will give unto him

that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life

freely.

We may eat the most luscious feast available.

We may drink the coldest water from the deepest well.

The satisfaction is temporal,

for in a while, we will hunger and thirst again.

Bread has been called the “Staff of Life.”

Jesus alone satisfies our deepest spiritual need.

  Christ shows that He is the True Bread;

He is to the soul what bread is to the body- He nourishes and supports the spiritual life.

He is the Bread of God – Bread which He gave, to be the food for our souls.

Christ is Himself the Living Bread, and nourishes by His own power.

The message of “Christ crucified” is now as

strengthening and comforting to a believer as it ever was.

He is the Bread which came down from heaven.

May we with understanding and earnestness say,

“Lord, evermore give us this Bread.”

Lisa saw the church door open and came in.

She asked if it was okay to come in and pray.

My husband told her, “Yes, but we have Bible Study in a few minutes.”

We talked with her and she shared how that 4 years ago she

 Lost her job

        Lost her money

        Lost her health.

 A couple of days after she lost her job

she was diagnosed with breast cancer

and underwent 8 chemo therapy treatments.

The treatments made her so sick  she wanted to die.

She came into the church that evening

because she wanted to thank the Lord

for all he had done for her.

I hugged Lisa, prayed for her and thanked the Lord

for being real in her life  in her darkest hours

and for safely bringing her through it.

Lisa cried.

She said, “I have nothing,

but I have everything.”

The Apostle Paul said it like this:

~

2 Corinthians 6:10)

 As sorrowful,

yet alway rejoicing;

as poor,

yet making many rich;

as having nothing,

and yet possessing all things.

 ~

She shared as she left,

“This is the reason I came here tonight,

I got what I needed.”

The Lord touched her,

and prayer

and words of affirmation

we  both shared with her were a blessing.

I too was blessed by her testimony.

She went on her way rejoicing.

We may never see Lisa again this side of heaven,

but because we have tasted the Bread of Heaven

and drank from the Lord’s Fountain,

we will meet again!

GOD’S WONDERFUL PLAN OF SALVATION

~

Acts 16:30-31

”Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

And they said,

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,

and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

 ~

 Romans 10:8-13

But what saith it?

The word is nigh thee,

even in thy mouth,

and in thy heart:

that is,

the word of faith, which we preach;

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth

the Lord Jesus,

and shalt believe in thine heart

that God hath raised Him from the dead,

thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto

righteousness;

and with the mouth confession is made unto

salvation.

For the scripture saith,

Whosoever

believeth on Him

shall not be ashamed.

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek:

for the same Lord over

ALL

is rich unto

ALL

that call upon Him.

For whosoever shall CALL upon the NAME of the Lord

SHALL BE SAVED.

The plan of salvation is simple.

Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ,

died for your sins and rose again from the dead.

Ask Him to forgive you of your sins.

Invite Him into your heart to be the Savior of your soul.

When you’re crying yourself to sleep,

know that Jesus is lending His shoulder to you.

When you’re pushed to the ground,

know that Jesus is holding out His hands to you.

When you feel like dying,

know that Jesus died to let you live.

When you feel like no one loves you,

know that Jesus loves you more than you can imagine.
