Family and Friends,

John 13:23

Leaning on Jesus’ bosom.

As one whom his mother comforteth,

so will I comfort you;

and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Mark 10:16

They brought young children to Him,

that He should touch them.

And He took them up in His arms,

put His hands upon them,

and blessed them.

Hebrews 4:15

For we have not an high Priest

which cannot be  touched

with the feeling of our infirmities…

Isaiah 63:9

In His love and in His pity He redeemed them.

John 14:18

I will not leave you comfortless:

I will come to you.

Isaiah 49:15

Can a woman forget her sucking child,

that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?

Yea, they may forget,

yet will I not forget thee.

Revelation 7:17

The Lamb which is in the midst of the throne

shall FEED them,

shall LEAD them

unto Living Fountains of Waters:

and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

2 Corinthians 2-11

Grace be to you and peace

from God our Father,

from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessed be God,

even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

the Father of mercies,

and the God of all comfort;

Who comforts us in all our tribulation,

that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble,

by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us,

so our consolation also abounds by Christ.

And whether we be afflicted,

it is for your consolation and salvation,

which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer:

or whether we be comforted,

it is for your consolation and salvation.

And our hope of you is stedfast,

knowing, that as you are partakers of the sufferings,

so shall you be also of the consolation.

For we would not, brethren,

have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia,

that we were pressed out of measure,

above strength,

insomuch that we despaired even of life:

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves,

that we should not trust in ourselves,

but in God Who raises the dead:

Who delivered us from so great a death,

and does deliver:

in Whom we trust that He will yet deliver us;

You also helping together by prayer for us,

that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons

thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

Many times we go through things that we don’t understand, but we can give comfort to

someone else who is going through difficulties because we ourselves have been given comfort

by the Lord through our difficulties.  How many times have we talked to friends and they share

the griefs that the Lord has brought them through, and in listening to them, you received

comfort for what you were facing at the time because your trial seemed to pale in comparison.

Maybe you read an account in the Bible or story or a book about someone who had received

great consolation and comfort from the Lord in having endured some great trial and affliction

and you were encouraged.

Perhaps what you experienced can be a comfort and consolation to someone else

because of His care for you at such a time.  In seeing your faithful attitude and your

steadfastness in Jesus they are encouraged to take the same stand.

We can bless our friend, our sister or our brother,  “Hey brother, hey sister, be encouraged, I

went through something similar to what you’re going through and look at me now!  I’m more

blessed now than before!  It was hard, but  I’m a better person because of it.  The Lord has

been Faithful!”

 Let us, therefore,

not be weary of well-doing;

for we shall reap an eternal harvest of comfort,

if we faint not.

We are born for a higher destiny than that of earth.  There is a realm where

the rainbow never fades; where the stars will be spread out before us like the

islands that slumber on the ocean; and where the beautiful beings that here

pass before us like visions will stay in our presence forever.”
