KIDS, TINY TOTS, TEENS, AND TWEENS

There’s a Friend for little children
Above the bright blue sky—
A Friend who never changes,
Whose love can never die.
Unlike our friends by nature,
Who change with changing years,
This Friend is always worthy
The precious name He bears.

There’s a home for little children,
Above the bright blue sky;
Where Jesus reigns in glory,
A home of peace and joy.
No home on earth is like it,
Or can with it compare;
For every one is happy,
Nor could be happier there.

O.F. Walton

Greetings once again Dear Friends and Family,

I read about 6 year old Gandyra in Brazil in the earlier part of the last century, who gave her heart to the Lord. A missionary came to her home and her family rejected his message. He was there for 8 days, and this old man had but one opportunity with this family and it was with this precious child. No one thought to shield this girl from “this heresy” because she was after all, a very young child and wouldn’t understand. But what a child! Her tender heart was open to the simple gospel message and she invited Jesus into her heart and was truly saved. She was the only one in her village that opened her heart to the Lord. The missionary left but the seed had been planted and fell upon “good ground.”

The next four years the little girl remained true to her Saviour, trusting him with all her child heart. When she was ten years old, she became seriously ill and asked her mother to pray for her. Well, the mother only knew memorized prayers, and couldn’t really pray a prayer of faith for her dear child. Gandyra said words to her mother that were like an arrow to her heart, “Mamae, you cannot pray because Jesus is not in your heart.”

Each day as she grew weaker, she begged her parents and six brothers and sisters to accept Christ.  She was a great witness to the many neighbors that came and went. In dying she said, “I see the angels coming with Jesus, minha Mamae.” Jesus opened His arms wide and received His precious child and she went to be at home with Him. However, she did not leave empty handed. She brought her family to the Lord.  Her father became a preacher and won many souls for Jesus.   She left them behind, but for a moment, later to be reunited forever in the Father’s House.

Children are a fertile field to plant the good seeds of the gospel.  This is a photo sent to me by a pastor’s wife made by a young child that goes to their church.  She makes her own tithe envelope to put in her dime or whatever.  How sweet is that?

Psalms 127:3  Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: …

Proverbs 22:6   Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Mark 10:13-16  And they brought young childen to him, that he should touch them; and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.  (14) But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them.  Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.  (15) Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.  (16) And he put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

Matthew 18:10  Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

The first time we were in the Philippines, my husband preached in different locations in the province of Zamboanga.  I was privileged to see something I have never seen before or since. At the altar, very young children were intensely crying out to the Lord with the tears streaming down their faces.  At another place that was close to the ocean, before sunrise young people started the day with a fiery prayer meeting.  It was a sweet sound to be awakened by.  The service in that place was amazing!  It was as if a “tidal wave of glory” went through that small barrio church with many onlookers peering through the door and windowless windows.  It was one of the most powerful services I have ever been in.  It was truly precious to see so many young people on fire for the Lord! So poor in worldly goods, but so rich in the love and presence of God.

In China, I understand that a certain “music school” for children is in reality a Christian school where the children learn about the Lord. The heathen parents send them so that they will be good children. Eventually, the children win their parents to Christ.

In Mozambique, God is moving and oftentimes the missionary takes the children to the villages where they lay hands on the sick, the blind, deaf and those with various and sundry maladies and diseases and God heals them.

This year it has been our privilege to see the Lord move in the hearts of the children.  In one church,  a 12 year old girl was filled with the Holy Ghost, a 13 year old boy was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, as was his friend a 14 year old.  Precious!

In closing I want to  share about a phone call my husband got from a pastor regarding his 12 or 13 year old son (at that time).  An aunt was  visiting, and while tending to the baby, who was apparently on the floor, fell back on her hand and either broke or severely sprained her thumb. The child’s mother told her aunt, let my son pray for you.  Well you know the rest of the story, God completely healed her thumb! Praise God!  He is alive and well in His church today!  I will end with this very moving selection.  May the Lord richly bless you in this vast and abundant harvest field.
